J & K Scientific Inc. produces a steadily increasing range of unique fused silica GC capillary columns. These columns are used in the separation of compounds, especially isomeric compounds, based on their structural differences, polarities, and volatilities.

J & K Scientific Inc. has taken the lead in the development of novel stationary phase technologies such as Nano Stationary Phase and Liquid Crystal stationary phase technologies. Stationary phase selectivity and thermal stability are the most important properties for creating highly selective, inert, efficient and thermally stable GC columns. Most of the conventional stationary phases have limited selectivity for the separation of isomeric compounds; therefore it is necessary to use very long columns to achieve the desired separations. It is very difficult to separate isomeric compounds, which have the same molecular weight and very close boiling points/volatilities. It is often impossible to achieve baseline separation with even longer columns using conventional stationary phases.

J & K Scientific’s GC columns made with Nano and Liquid Crystal Stationary phases have superb selectivity and can achieve very difficult separations with surprisingly short columns and no cost premiums. Additionally, J & K Scientific’s Nano Stationary Phase GC columns are suitable for all applications performed on equivalent conventional stationary phase GC columns.
