Isomer specific capillary columns for GCxGC applications

Comprehensive Two-Dimensional Gas Chromatography (CTDGC) is a new frontier in chromatographic separation and analysis. The use of CTDGC with isomer specific capillary columns provides a promising solution in solving very difficult separation problems. The following list of publications shows the application of CTDGC with our isomeric specific and shape selective LC-50 columns in solving complex separation and analysis problems. The effectiveness of CTDGC with an LC-50 column for quantitative analysis of dioxins in a real life sample (a milk extract spiked with the priority dioxins and dibenzofurans), is demonstrated in Ref. 9 below.

Considering the importance of the selectivity of second dimension columns, J & K Scientific is offering Kit-1 to cover a wide variety of possible GCxGC applications. In addition to LC-50 columns, the recently developed innovative Nano Stationary Phase (NSP) GC columns provide enhanced isomer specific selectivity and high temperature stability. The enhanced selectivity of the NSP-610 column provides fast and complete resolution of the 16 priority PAH’s of EPA Method 610 in <5 minutes. The NSP-PAH column provides complete resolution of 25 EU-EPA PAH’s in <18 minutes with a higher column operating temperature limit of 360ºC.The LC-50 column provides shape selectivity with complete resolution of triphenylene from chrysene and Benz[a]anthracene, and Benzo[j]fluoranthene from Benzo[b]fluoranthene and Benzo[k]fluoranthene using a short 4 m column.
